I knew I had to try Reanimal almost immediately. As a huge fan of the Little Nightmares games and co-op experiences like It Takes Two, Split Fiction, and A Way Out, this felt like one of those games built directly for me. After finishing it, I walked away pretty impressed.
Right from the beginning, Reanimal absolutely nails the atmosphere. The world constantly feels uncomfortable in the best way possible. Dark environments, unsettling creature designs, eerie sounds, and that constant feeling that something is watching you create tension that never really goes away. It captures that uneasy Little Nightmares vibe perfectly while still doing enough to feel like its own thing.
The visuals deserve a lot of credit too. Everything has this creepy, dreamlike style that constantly keeps you on edge. Whether you’re solving puzzles, exploring strange environments, or slowly moving through darker sections waiting for something awful to happen, the game does a great job pulling you into its world.
Reanimal captures the same dark magic as Little Nightmares while adding more freedom and stronger co-op moments.
The co-op side is where the game really shines. The objectives stay clever throughout, and the puzzles consistently give both players something meaningful to do instead of making one person feel like they’re just along for the ride. If you have a friend or significant other to play this one with, I highly recommend it because this feels like exactly the type of experience these kinds of games are made for.
The biggest downside is honestly the length. I definitely found myself wanting more by the time credits rolled. At the same time though, the reduced $40 price point makes it easier to accept.
It has a very similar feel to Little Nightmares, but with a little more narrative and a little more freedom. Same dark world. Same tiny-character feeling. Same creepy atmosphere.
Just more room to experience with a companion.
