  • Scoring System

NextUp Daily scores games, films, and television on a 10-point scale using 0.25 increments. The scale is designed to provide meaningful distinctions between reviews while remaining clear and easy to understand.

    10 — Masterpiece

Exceptional in nearly every way and among the very best experiences its medium has to offer.

    9.00–9.75 — Excellent

Outstanding work that excels in most areas, with only minor shortcomings preventing perfection.

    8.00–8.75 — Great

Highly recommended experiences that deliver far more strengths than weaknesses.

    7.00–7.75 — Good

Solid and enjoyable overall, though noticeable flaws hold them back from reaching the next tier.

    6.00–6.75 — Average

A mixed experience with clear strengths and equally apparent weaknesses.

    5.00–5.75 — Below Average

Falls short of expectations and struggles to consistently deliver on its goals.

    Below 5.00 — Not Recommended

Significant issues undermine the experience and make it difficult to recommend.

A score is a starting point, not a verdict. Every review includes the context behind the number — what the work is trying to achieve, who it is intended for, and how successfully it accomplishes its goals.

  • Review Policy

    What We Cover

We review games, films, and television. Our assessments consider the full scope of what makes each medium work, including gameplay, story, performance, presentation, audio, technical performance, innovation, replayability, and overall enjoyment.

The weight given to each category depends on the type of content being reviewed. A linear narrative film is judged differently than an open-world RPG, and we believe that distinction matters.

    Conflicts of Interest

Review copies, screeners, and early access may occasionally be provided by publishers, developers, studios, or distributors. Receiving access has no bearing on our scores or editorial conclusions.

We do not negotiate coverage, guarantee favorable reviews, or adjust our opinions in response to external pressure.

When applicable, review copies, screener access, or other provided materials will be disclosed in the review.

    Our Standard

NextUpDaily exists to give readers coverage they can trust. That means calling things as we see them: the good, the disappointing, and everything in between.

We believe criticism should be fair, informed, and honest. If we recommend something, it is because we genuinely believe it earned that recommendation. If we have concerns, we will say so.

Honest criticism is the only kind we publish.

  • About Us

Games. Movies. Shows. Big releases, hidden gems, indie projects, and AAA experiences — entertainment has always been more than background noise to us. It’s what we look forward to, what we talk about, and what keeps us coming back for “one more episode,” “one more match,” or “one more hour.”

NextUpDaily is made by fans, for fans. We’re here because we want to be.

Our goal is simple: help people stay connected to the things they love through accurate release dates and honest reviews. Whether you’re counting down the days to a major launch, searching for your next favorite series, or checking out a smaller title that deserves more attention, we want to be part of that experience.

We cover every genre, every platform, and every community — PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, PC, streaming, theaters, and everything in between. Great experiences can come from anywhere, and we believe every game, story, and world deserves a chance to shine.

Our reviews are short, to the point, and mostly spoiler-free. We’d rather spend our time playing, watching, and experiencing entertainment than overcomplicating it.

While many outlets put the spotlight on personalities, we keep it on the content itself. We prefer a lower-profile approach — one that lets opinions stand on their own and keeps the focus where it belongs: the stories, worlds, and moments in front of us.

Most importantly, we’re not here to tell you what to think. We’re here to share the journey, celebrate what we think is great, call out what we think isn’t, and build a place where people who love entertainment can feel at home.

We care less about hype and more about answering one question:

    Is this worth your time?

Thanks for stopping by — wherever the NextUp journey takes us, we’re glad to have you along for the ride.
